I came close to running out. I bought asst. Ferrara Pan candies. The 25
cent packs. Started out giving out three to each kid, then two then one.
Then got into the little packs of Swedish Fish and the Sour Patch Kids they
came with. Put several handfuls of those in the cauldron. And it's a good
thing because I don't have much of anything left now and one more kid came
to the door. Bought the Swedish Fish to have on hand in case I get a hypo.
(I'm diabetic), but I didn't need nearly that many for myself.
I seem to be getting a lot of "kids" this year that are as tall as me or
taller. They've got no bags of any kind and often no costume. They just
want the candy.
I think some of them remember me from years past. This is the first year
I've given out candy in some time. We normally give out toys. Stuffed
animals and rubber ducks are always really popular. I think I'll go back to
the toys next year. Daughter was just excited that she found a candy she
wasn't allergic to so I told her we could get some.
