My mother likes to cook it in a white sauce eg Bechamel with nutmeg and
then topping it with fried breadcrumbs. I prefer slicing it thinly,
sauteeing (slight browning) in olive oil and pouring it over
freshly-cooked pasta. Either method works with anise bulb as well.
