A friend of mine from Sydney once sent me a large batch of Anzac biscuits
she had baked and they were delicious. I have used her recipe and
virtually duplicated the same taste and texture. Obtaining the right
ingredients in the US isn't all that difficult if one really wants to make
them. Most supermarkets do not carry dessicated coconut, but most natural
food and health food shops do. (Supermarkets usually carry only sweetened
coconut.) Golden syrup is relatively easy to find. The remaining
ingredients are usually staples in an USian household.
