Ours (came with the meat grinder attachment) works just fine! The
machine does need to be run at full speed, as specified in the little
instruction manual.

Rolling pin works well too LOL. We also have a hand-cranked pasta maker
anyway which predates the pasta extruder. We also have a hand-cranked
pasta extruder which seemed to appear in the cupboard one day....
