retention time is not something the poster is responsible for. The
owner/operator of your newsserver is the one who configures a.o. the
retention time per ng. The owner/operator usually is your ISP, that is if
you post/read through your ISP's newsserver.

If you want a better retention time on certain ngs it's worth looking round
for a better nerwsserver; you might find one he alt.free.newsservers.
