We did a similar set-up of finger foods and snacks; TJ's steamed
Mui Shi (I think that's what they're called) Thai chicken
dumplings, vegetables and six dips (sour cream and onion to
tahini), fried pot stickers, chicken baskets with ham-and-cheese,
french-onion-soup, and blue-cheese-and-scallions, pizza rolls, egg
rolls, wedges of cheeses and slabs of preserved meats all
culminating with a traditional bowl o' black-eyed peas and sticks
of fresh, hot corn bread with whipped honey butter. Everything was
washed down throughout the evening with a special gift from my BIL
of a case of Charles Heidsieck. Lot's of friends, family and
well-wishers were on hand to enjoy the libations and free food. It
was a very hobbitish event.
