New Bamboo Cutting Board
On Fri, 28 Dec 2007 13:48:48 -0800, koko fired up random neurons and
synapses to opine:
>I forgot to pack a couple of things when I left daughter's in AZ.

Koko - Late to the thread, as we've been OOT. I bought a bamboo
cutting board from Totally Bamboo a year or so ago. Wonderful board.
Bamboo is harder than most hardwoods, but it's also less porous, which
begs the question that it might be less germ-friendly. It also is a
little tougher on knife edges and I have to steel fractionally more
often, but not enough to worry about. All in all, I prefer the bamboo
to the hardwoods. In fact, I am giving some thought to trying to find
a good bamboo turkey/roast platter (my old ceramic turkey platter was
evidently the victim of unseen demons and developed a huge craze since
the last time I used it) ...when my wallet recovers from Christmas :-)
