You're very lucky! We've been to Thailand twice. The food is fresh and
great. Go to the storefront restaurants where the owners are visible in
back and order "what's good". You generally won't have a problem. Like
Vietnam, the market food is impeccably fresh and that moves to the kitchen
of the restaurant. The food isn't just spicey; it's subtlely spicey. Some
very good Thai restaurants in the SF Bay Area make you think you're in
Thailand. In Thailand the spices are more varied, and you'll taste things
you don't taste here. Stay at the Marriott across the Chao Phraya river.
Take a free boat ride across to town and walk, and walk. You'll have a great
time. Everybody does.
