Nurses like to think that they are experts of finding veins and
inserting needles and it's usually true but I've unfortunately
experienced a number of occasions where more than one try was
necessary or blood leaked into the tissue. On the other hand, I
know the little finger-stick will not hurt but it is hard to
convince myself even after uncounted samples and I still often
tense up.
