Folks love my hushpuppies. Your recipe should work. Instead of buttermilk, I
like to use whole milk and add a couple of teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
to the milk. Another thing I find is that to make sure you have more soured
milk on hand than the recipe calls for, 'cause for whatever reason, the
batter might turn out too thick and need to be thinned out a bit.
