Mis-use of my charitable gestures is why I believe charity begins at
home now. Years ago I got involved in sponsoring a single mother and
her kids for Christmas. Turned out the bitch had at least 5 other
organizations doing the same. When we delivered the gifts a few days
before the 25th she took us to a locked bedroom that was packed full
of wrapped gifts. There were more coming other than the ones we were
adding to the piles. She and her kids had more there than most people
see in 25 years. Never again for me unless I know for sure they
really need it.
