When I make Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, I cover the moreno cherries I use
with Kirschwässer for at least a week or more before putting the cake
together. Of course, the Kirschwässer is also used in a syrup to drizzle
over the layers, and in the buttercream filling. It's an awesome cake.
