ok, if you don't like egg shells... diatomaceous earth. beer
traps (the only use for Budweiser). copper tape around raised
beds. iron phospate (brand name Slug-go). if legal in your
area, carnivorous snails
there are lots of non-lethal-chemical methods of dealing with
slugs & snails. carefully cleaning up daytime hiding places
(rocks, sticks, bark mulch, etc) helps a lot.
