Yes, If you have the ability to buy and store in bulk and sometimes
re-portion the food, it works.

As example sometimes Albertsons will have bulk chicken breasts on sale if
you buy 5 lbs or more. They are always whole breasts and have to be cut in
half and or processed in some other way. I will grind my own chicken and
repackage it in the food saver bags. Or cut and store several breasts for
when we have a crowd.

The refill bags are a little expensive and it takes a while to get a feel
for cutting the size you need.

Overall if you have the time and the money it's a good tool.
