Clearly nor do the people at Mayo. the "-osis" is a suffix that means a
chronic condition of the kind associated with the prefix and stem of the
word. They use it when they don't know what causes a condition but they
know there is such a condition. Sorry to hear about your condition. Live
life to the fullest until then.
