The one who left the restaurant in a huff? A wealthy man. Eighty-five
years old and without his suitcase since we arrived in France on Monday
morning. It was at our Paris hotel when we arrived today (Friday).

In defense of his concern but most certainly not his manners, we had a
limited amount of time in which to find and eat some lunch. We couldn't
afford much time to wonder if we'd been forgotten. Which, by the bye,
in no way excuses his rudeness to the proprietor.
