2 soup recepiees needed. One with meat ot fish. Another without. Good tasting, fast to make, cheap. Good to eat with freshly baked bread.

1 ham hock
1 pound of dry beans (and white bean)
1 onion (diced)
Lots of water cover to 3 timed the depth.
Put all in a pot and simmer rapidly till the beans are tender ( a few
hours).
Remove the ham hock cut op the meat and return to the pot.
Add salt and pepper to taste
You're done
