Despite all the nay-sayers, we have one and use it frequently.
Primarily for smoothies and shake-like things, true, but it's so damned
convenient for that, I don't feel it's wasted.
We also have a Vita-Mix, which will indeed do a far better job handling
ice cubes and larger quantities, but a lot always gets left behind, to
be cleaned up. With the Bullet, I can toss in some fruit, crushed ice
from the fridge, yogurt or ice cream, blend for 30 seconds, and I'm done.
The blade head cleans up with warm water in seconds, and the set we have
comes with colored plastic rings that cover the thread on the "jar", so
it's easy and neat to serve directly.
Lately, I've been putting in an inch and a half of crushed ice, enough
Margarita mix to a bit above the ice, and a couple scoops of vanilla ice
cream. Instant lime smoothie...
