For Ubuntu I would recommend Gourmet Recipe Manager - it has all the
functionality I need (shopping lists, nice search functions etc.) - and
it's very simple to use, IMHO. You can import MC and MM recipes too. It
can be installed via the "Synaptic Package Manager" (if you're using the
GNOME desktop) on your PC so why not try it out?

If you prefer KDE software there is Krecipes, which I found was not too
bad either...
