Yep. Cheese. I don't count saffron and other spices as expensive
because, while they add up to a lot by the pound, you use so little of
them in each meal that they're really cost effective.


I don't buy truffles or pates.


I do buy cheese. Oh, the joys! Imported chevres, hard to find blues,
well aged provolones, artisinal cheddars.
