Julia Child, Frugal Gourmet, etc. mostly. I took over most of the
cooking in the house pretty early since my mother wasn't a particularly
good cook (she could bake ok). Now that I'm many miles away, she's
learned to cook a bit better and has been known to call me for culinary
advice.
