You damn well better be self-sufficient then. WalMart buys most of its
stuff from China, many of our largest and most key companies have
foreign investors or are owned outright by foreigners. Large tracts of
US land are in the hands of foreign owners. Most of our oil comes from
overseas, not to mention many of our most favorite computer goodies.
Remember Apple's iPhone--made in China. Nokia is Finnish, and
BlackBerries are from RIM, a Canadian company.
You can't escape it, unless you head for the hills and live like a
hermit on your own plot of land.
