I've seen some wonderful outdoor kitchens here in AZ that were combined
with or adjacent to "Arizona Rooms" or extensive covered patios that were
highly functional during most of the year. During the hotter months, most
of these areas are cooled effectively with misting or fogging systems, but
those become ineffective when our monsoon season brings high humidity. We
are virtually free of mosquitos and other buggy pests.
I understand that your climate is quite different, however.
