Both David and I take Simvasatin, the generic form of Zocor. We have blood
work done every 90 days checking all major organ functions. Both our
internist and cariologist indicated that statins are actually rather safe
as long as their use is closely monitored. David's cholesterol had been
very high for years before he was put on medication. It is now in the
normal range. Mine was not nearly as high, but higher than normal. Now,
with medication, it is in the low-normal range.
