Why not? It's edible. Our society is such that we only eat the "best"
cuts, but if you had nothing available but an armadillo and were near
starvation, I'll bet you'd eat some strange parts.

I'm not sure exactly how the rectum is cut, but probably not much different
that a rump roast in beef. Makes a good pot roast.
