When our peach tree, eaten by Rita, would produce a lot I would take the
time to put up several quarts of peach slices in light syrup for later
use in pies and cobblers and eating straight from a bowl. I miss that
tree, its replacement isn't large enough to produce yet but should do so
next summer.
