I think it might explain the seriously sullen cashiers I've had
to deal with in some stores ... hey, I'm just buying stuff, I
can't help it your job is to ring up my items. I know there
was a lot of resistance to the whole Get a job thing, and yet
there were people who were happy to get out of that life and
appreciated the opportunity to work. Welfare can be something
of a trap.
