Don't keep them in the plastic bag. Get some cheap muslin and make a
potato bag; at least they will be dark and well-aired.
We keep ours in the bottom of the cardboard box used to accumulate paper
for recycling. It's dark and dry but can never be cool in this desert
climate LOL. They last about two to three weeks, which is long enough
for them to get used up.
