Default Weber Grill Repair

The side shelves on my Weber finally bit the dust. My grill is old,
it has the wooden slat shelves, the wood was so rotten that ther ewas
no way to reattach with new screws. The new shelves are some sort of
plastic. I called Weber and they wanted $30 for each side shelf in
plastic.... with the bottom shelf and the swing-up shelf they wanted
just under $200 + shipping... I said phooey on that. For under $3
worth of treated wood lumber from Lowes I sawed and replaced the slats
on both side shelves in under an hour (there was nothing wrong with
the metal brackets), I had to add a few screws as some of teh
originals had fallen out and are lost... that's how I realized there
was a problem, I noticed a couple of screw on teh ground.
