They look better than the originals, Sheldon. Nice job.
How high a fence does it take to keep the deer out of your garden?
When we lived in New England we had a 50x150 foot garden in the field
behind our house so we were able to grow almost everything in enough
volume to share with the critters.
One year the woodchucks got greedy in the corn so the following year we
built a 6 foot high wire fence around the corn area. To our surprise,
they soon tunneled their way under the fence into the very middle of the
corn rows.
My husband and a neighbor solved the problem with two lawn chairs, a
hose, beer, and two shotguns. They sat in the chairs, flooded the
tunnels from the far side with the hose, drank the beer, and fired the
guns as the ugly critters came out into the corn. (For those who have
never seen one, a woodchuck looks exactly like a gigantic rat.)
We still found whole corn stalks with the corn stripped off, abandoned
in the field and nearby woods that winter. Raccoons. Somehow we didn't
mind sharing the crop with them. Raccoons are cute and very smart.
