I did a quick Google and could not confirm this. In fact, there is a
claim that Iraq was actually gassing Iranian troops, and the 5,000 Kurd
civilians who were killed were merely collateral damage. The chemicals
were not provided by a government. Iraq purchased them from companies,
some German.
