My mother gave me a recipe for Green Goddess dressing that she said she
was given to her in 1935 by the maitre d' at the Garden Court of the
Palace Hotel where the dish originated.

Green Goddess Dressing

1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
juice of 1 lemon
small can anchovies, drain, then chop
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
1 tsp. wine vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed

Blend well (by hand).

I can't say for sure that this is the original but it's good!
