That is a good way to do it. Any time we are having a large gathering
and I am going to need room in the fridge I take everything out and
purge it of things that have been there too long or which don't really
need to be in it. I also like to tackle it when it is as close to being
empty as possible. That way there is less to clear out.

Then there are the times that you notice that the shelves are getting
grungy and disgusting. I can live with it but I don't like the idea of
other people looking in my fridge and being disgusted.
