She is about right on the mileage and the traffic is horrendous,
especially before 10 am and after 2:30 pm. It seems that everyone who
works in Virginia Beach lives in Newport News and everyone who works
in NN lives in VB. It is also fairly drivable after 7 pm. Getting
from one area to the other involves bridges and tunnels unless you
want to go almost to the NC line. And forget it if you find out the
there is an accident along the way. You soon learn the last exits on
either side before you get stuck. I have held my breath a few times
going from Hampton to the Norfolk airport, even at 6 am.
