50-60 miles one way. Definately not worth it in a big city like this one to
go that far for a mere grocery store, no matter how interesting. Too many
local options, several in walking distance of my house.
Lets see: BJ's 2 miles, Sams 1.5 miles, Harris Teeters 1.5 miles, Kroger,
1.6 (but cant walk that one, across the highway and no walk light), Asian
Grocery 4-5 miles (along the route back from Chiro), Japanese grocery, 1.8
miles, big mall 1.5 miles, Wallmart 1.4 miles, Kmart 2 miles, Farm Fresh 2.2
miles, Big Lots 2.2 miles, Food Lion 2.5 miles, Commisary 9 miles but across
from Chiro and another at 10 miles which is a 2 mile diversion from my
regular route home, main commisary 20 miles but on the route home, etc etc
etc.
Thats just the tip of the iceberg here. Ethnic groceries galore all
routable on the way home with little difference in distance.
I'm interested in TJ's as I've heard good things about them, but not about
to make a 100 mile round trip just to check them out.
