Oh definately! My ship (Stennis) was in the yards up there and it was a
terrible trek up and back all that time (1995-1997 then moved to NOB).

Used to divert to the 664 up past Suffolk and then cross over. For the
others, there are 2 main bridges between 'southside' and 'northside'. Both
are 2 lanes with a tunnel at least in parts. The bridges are if memory
serves, 11 miles and 15 miles respectively? Just to get to the bridges
(nearest is busiest) is 30 miles roughly.

Used the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel last time when treking up to NY state,
just to avoid the mess. 13$ fee but nice easy route. Does not however
connect back to the area where TJ's is best i know of.

Yup. Hampton is a nice place, but the congress between our areas is
difficult for others not here to understand. Snicker, I'm happy the airport
is on OUR side!
