On Oct. 20, 2004, I suffered a traumatic brain injury. Things were bad for
a couple of years, but now I'm much better, even to the point of having to
relearn thing, such as people's names. I do have residual symptoms and
limitations. During some of that time, I was a danger. But now, it's like
I'm a young adult who has to tell Mom that I'm not a kid any longer.

Our schedule vacillates wildly around business and travel. At times when we
are home, yes, the dishwasher gets run very often. On the other hand, when
we are sporadic, what's the sense of leaving dirty dishes in there for a
week when she won't leave a dirty glass on the counter top overnight?

I have a good life and a good wife. Sometimes, though, I get puzzled.
