You seriously made me laugh on two things.

I loved the currywurst, and I prior to that disliked ketchup based
sauces. The Germans made me think a little differently about food. The
next example that I had that made an impact, was the sliced hard boiled
egg on pizza. You probably know how well egg and tomato work together,
but but until I went to Germany, it never occurred to me it (hard boiled
egg slices) would work well on pizza.

The other LOL, was red cross thing. In the states, giving blood in the
military usually involved a half day off, a couple of cookies, a piece
of fruit, and a small bottle of wine (of course this was a few days
back). I would have settled for the Barvarian chocolates and a beer ;-)
