In Japan there is nothing wrong or unusual with using your fingers to
eat sushi and it is a common way people do it.
The other thing you don't see in Japan is people filling up the little
dish with shoyu and dunking the sushi. If they do anything they wet the
fish, egg, vegetable etc a little but never the rice.
