when I was about 12 I remember going to theif river falls I think in ND
with my parents on a camping/shopping trip. They parked me in a
luncheonette in some store I don't remember the name of. I ordered a hot
dog. The dog came with a bun that had been buttered and then toasted.
This was a new revelation to me...a never had before. I think I ordered 6
hot dogs one after the other, till the waitress got peeved and told me to
leave and that I couldn't be that hungry. This was a key moment in my
life...buttered buns and then toasted...WOW!

It isn't just the dog that effects the taste.

Another hot dog WOW in my life was the first time I tried kraut on a dog.
