I wouldn't if I were a subscriber, and therefore I don't buy them. They push
hard to sell them. The also push their online subscription very hard,
somewhat like Consumers Reports does. It's almost as though Christopher
Kimball knows full well the days of the print magazine are lapsing. Cooks
Illustrated gives advice on what to do with the very basic cooking, like
roasting/grilling steak, making the best custard, making mashed potatoes,
and so forth. They also do equipment reviews. If you go to:
http://cooksillustrated.com/byissue/ you can look at what's in back issues,
and what's most like in the annual books.
You may know this already, but if not, hope this helps,
Theron
