I remembered some weirdness about Kellogg, so I did a look at Google:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harvey_Kellogg

Dr. Kellogg believed in abstinence from alcohol and tobacco, and
vegetarianism. He thought your insides should be clean. His favorite
was a machine that instilled several gallons of water in a series of
enemas. He believed that everything should be done to prevent
masturbation, including mutilation and pain. He was married for forty
years but never had sex with his wife. They raised forty children, and
adopted several of them.
