Even when I lived in Memphis it never got cold outside for more than a
couple of months. I don't have a favourite thing for cold weather. I
haven't been around long-lasting cold weather (definitely not snow!) for a
very long time.
I make and eat hot soups and stews all year long. What they are depends on
what mood strikes me and what ingredients are on hand. I might make potato
soup; I might make chicken noodle soup or chicken & dumplings. I might make
lentil soup. You never can tell
I have my German grandmother's recipe for white bread. I used to bake it
when I was in my teens and early 20's. And for a while I'd bake
refrigerator [yeast] rolls from a cookbook my father gave me when I was 18.
The recipe for both has been posted here many times. But I haven't baked
bread for many years. I don't eat a lot of bread.
