When I talked to my SiL the other day she said that there must have been
bombs because people heard explosions, and when my nephew posted a video
of the fire you could hear them. They sounded to me like aerosol cans
exploding. Having done stupid things liked throwing cans into fire in
the past I can tell you that an aerosol can most definitely does sound
like a small bomb going off. Even a can (unopened) of pork and beans in
a camp fire is a hefty explosion.
