Junipers berries are used to make gin. I use them in a marinade
consisting of buttermilk, juniper berries, peppercorns and rosemary for
deer. The deer marinates for three days and is simply wonderful. I
suppose you could take a cheap cut of beef, marinate it and then smoke
it, as well.
