I was a commercial diver for six years, and have spent more time in a
decompression chamber than most people have spent underwater scuba diving.
Ours were US Navy surplus. New medicine advances using hyperbaric chambers
have helped a lot of things from gaseous gangrene to MS. Large complexes
are now available at some hospitals with hyperbaric chambers the size of
small rooms. Where they were once rare, they are not common throughout the
land.
