Ken Olsen is famously quoted as having said in 1977: "There is no reason
for any individual to have a computer in his home."

Ken was the founder and CEO of DEC, one of the most famous computer
companies in the US. I think he was wrong. Maybe that's why his
company disappeared in 1998.
