Papaya is very relative--the huge Mexican ones are flavorless and terrible.

The small ones from Hawaii are sweet and juicy and wonderful.
When we were in Hawaii with our grandson who was two years old at the
time, we successfully substituted papaya for his beloved cantaloupe and
he never noticed the difference. It was delicious.
