There are many good brands. Furi, Forschner, Henckels, Wustof, Global,
Kyocera for starters. They all dull eventually so get a steel and a
sharpening kit or device. While the more expensive knives ten to be better
than the cheaper ones, there are many excellent modestly prices pieces that
will serve you well for years.
