My coworker's problems with parasites should not be taken as any reflection
on the Intercontinental chain of hotels. That chain has an excellent
reputation, and I've enjoyed staying in several of them. (Bahrain, London,
Tampa, and San Francisco, to be specific.)

I myself have eaten in the Lebanese restaurant I mentioned, and I would be
happy to eat there again. You just have to be sensible in what you eat.

I'm not aware of any history of people getting sick from eating American
lamb, but that doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't happened. I'd check with
the CDC if I were worried about that kind of thing.
